baby cubs

Got these sweet matching pajamas from one of our neighbor friends after they went up North (I love my neighborhood!)
Ja-ma-nas!! As August so excitedly yells.
Besides the waking up every 2 hours every.single.night with baby girl, I am wishing I could freeze time right now.

around the house

Some things going on around our house:
Scraped, sanded, and re-painted the chipping paint around our door frame and got a new wreath.
Trying to teach August how to ride his balance bike, he was not interested. But yesterday we went to my cousins and he was zooming around on his second-cousins' balance bike, so maybe he'll be into his now??
Video won't work, but he loves to help me sort the silverware. Starting the chores already! :)
Baby girl growing so fast.
Before church exercise with mom.
Sometimes at church there is a little photo shoot area set up, who knows why, but I helped myself and got these great shots of my handsome little man!
Then we headed over to my cousin's house to play and have supper. She is blessed to have 6 children. All home-schooled and love God and just such a wholesome, musically talented, happy family. The kids played for hours outside, I love it since I'm mostly boring stay-inside mom (besides going for walks). I loved August getting all the fresh air.
Why yes I can eat a cookie with one hand and mow with the other.
Who knew scooping handfuls of sand into a little digger could be so fun.
These little piggies are going to market soon, waaaaah. Not everything on the farm is happy! But at least they know where their meat comes from and had happy lives, so that is good.
We had nice talks and the kids played, we ate delicious chili and fresh baked bread and got send home with leftovers, a jar of honey (they are beekeepers too!), and a jar of sourdough starter to start my own baking :)
It was a good weekend. This morning it was off to the post office and then getting a couple things at TJ Maxx with my babies. It is so hard to get out of the house with two. I woke up before 7 and still couldn't make it out the door before 10:30 between breakfasts for everyone, nursing, pumping, waiting for naps to finish, multiple diaper changes, etc, it just is so frustrating! Love my sweet babes though, they do make life more fun.

book club girls weekend

Finally all 7 of us were able to go on our book club girls weekend! We are mostly a group of 6, since one member moved to Chicago, but we have an annual one night away and miraculously all the calendars aligned. This year we didn't want to spend as much time in the car so we stayed a little closer to home in Bay City. One of the girl's parents lives there and has a new house with a huge basement, so instead of staying at a hotel or B & B, we stayed there. Which not only saved us money, but was super flexible and ended up being a great option. See ya next year parents ;)
We spent time in nice restaurants, hanging out at her parents, we made ourselves an amazing breakfast with freshly laid eggs, and then we went and did a canopy walk at Dow Gardens. It was beautiful. All in all lovely, but too short, time together, good talks, and actually got 5 hours sleep straight since I was baby-less (!) and only woke up once to pump.
Good times. So blessed to have these Godly women in my life and to get together every month so faithfully for our bookclub, going on 10 years now!

Labor Day weekend

Labor Day weekend was truly laborious for me as I spent 3 days in a row at work. I had dreaded this all year as I hate working even two in a row and with the baby, but it was my scheduled weekend to work and my scheduled holiday so no way around it. It ended up being not too bad, kinda slow, and the days flanking the weekend were good.
Friday we went and had dinner and lake fun with friends. I got to go wakeboarding again, I loved it.
My lakehouse dreams were renewed...
We had a gender reveal cake for Liz, baby boy #3!! Liz actually let me listen to the voicemail from the doctor before she did - so I knew first! :) I called Doug and said "guess what" and he says what does it have to do with, and I said a baby, and then he said "you're not pregnant are you!?!" He was relieved to know I wasn't.
Who wouldn't want another little face like this?!?
This boy was happy as could be playing in the sand
< 3 days at work with Doug holding down the fort >
Then today they finally started digging at my parent's new build so we went to take a look. The guy did two or three scoops and then took a lunch break, haha. Might be a loooong build!
Then we 'harvested' from my garden, besides the roma tomato and one orange one I ate, August ate them all!
I'm happy there are a few veggies he will eat!
